Welcome spring, in the wind that blows through my windows, among the budding trees, the budding flowers and in the folds of my sheets! Winter is finally over and I'm full of energy and desire for change again, ready for my spring cleaning appointment and to renew the rooms in my house, which need to become fresher and brighter to adapt to the warmer temperatures.

Every year at this time of year I have a great desire to change something, to give our home a new look, but as we know, you can't always revolutionise everything: so what do we change?

Using textiles to change the look of a room is a quick, easy and inexpensive way that you can use several times a year to create a vibrant environment with just a few targeted changes!

Quality and materials for spring linen

First, put the comforter back in the closet and replace it with a soft bedspread suitable for warmer temperatures. Choosing the weight of the bedspread depends a little on how chilly you are and where you live: In our collection we have two different options, the 200 g Ladybug, perfect for mid-season, when nights are still cool thanks to the wide temperature range, and the 200 g Ladybug, perfect for mid-season, when nights are still cool thanks to the wide temperature range, In our collection we have two different options, the 200 g Ladybug, perfect for mid-season, when nights are still cool thanks to the wide temperature range, and the 120 g Butterfly, which will snuggle you in the warm evenings of late spring.

By choosing from our wide range of two-color reversible bedspreads, you can change your configuration to suit your mood and never get bored at the touch of a button.

As the season progresses, you will need nothing but new sheets to gradually adapt to the rising temperatures.

Needless to say, for me the only truly unsurpassed material for sheets is linen? We have already discussed this on several occasions, and please go and reread the countless reasons why linen is the healthiest and most comfortable fiber for sleeping.

The best colours for spring

If your room has basic neutral colours on the walls or furniture, it will be very easy to give touches of colour and thus completely change the overall impact of the room.

If you like bright colours, you could choose some elements such as bedspreads, cushions, curtains and other details to play with in different shades of a colour you like.

If, for example, you love light blue, my suggestion is not to choose all of one shade but to play with the whole range of blues, from the lightest like Ice to the most saturated like Dolphin or Deep Blue, to give more depth to the overall effect.

Solid colours or patterns?

Plain colours are easy to match, but if you like your rooms a bit eclectic, why not add some striped details to a basic colour, like some cushions? Procedete per gradi se non siete sicuri, provate con pochi elementi e poi man mano che vi chiarite le idee, azzardate passi più decisi. Always bear in mind that changes take a little time to get used to or to assess whether they are not likely to tire you quickly.

Are you braver? Well then, as I have already suggested on other occasions, choose solids, stripes and patterns to mix and match, with one particular colour as the common thread for your dream room.

The accessories and furniture

One suggestion I would like to make is to get different items of furniture for different seasons, which you can combine with each other in the various changes throughout the year. In this way, every year you may find a small detail to add to your outfit without changing everything: From a suitcase with books to more creative elements such as painted branches for a shabby chic effect, vintage armchairs and so on!

Of course, the sheets and pillowcases must be coordinated with the other accessories you have chosen, and in this case you have two choices. The first is to choose sheets in your colour range or at least neutral sheets that will go well with everything: I'm talking about ivory or white of course, but also many other delicate shades that go well with stronger colours.

If, like me, you want to go all the way and make a decisive choice on the sheets, the options are different. There are lots of colours to play with tone on tone or, why not, in contrasting colours. What do you think, for example, of combining shades of blue and sage green? I like them a lot in spring because they go along with the clear light of this season. Like for example the sheets from the Gitane line, with the soft gauze ruffles in many elegant colours to match the Farfalla and Coccinella pillowcases and bedspreads. Or take a look at the striped sheets from the Filo range, with their contrasting cord-stitch embroidered piping.

Changing curtains

What else can we do to give our room a fresher look? I like to change my curtains in spring and replace the heavier linen curtains with linen gauze, which I let flutter when the season allows me to rest with the windows open. when the season allows me to rest with the windows open. I love the light and I just need to gently filter the sun's rays without completely darkening the room, to make the most of the long days.

Playing with highlights

An extra touch? In summer, my lampshades also change colour to match the shades of my room. When I turn on the lights in the evening, the coloured gauze is beautiful and reflects delicate shadows on the walls, creating hypnotic games that help you relax. Again, artificial lighting points in this season give strength to natural light, which is always stronger and can give very beautiful results.

You can choose to place new floor lamps, perhaps replacing the lampshade with more colourful shades or hanging rows of bulbs on the walls or headboard to add a touch of romance to the room. If you're feeling creative here too, you can use salvaged or vintage items, such as old bottles and glass vases, which can be used with bare bulbs to create really evocative dances of light and shadow
