There’s a threshold in the way we live our homes that separates the ordinary from the extraordinary. Tecla was born right there: where the act of setting the table meets the grace of a tailoring project of the highest level.

This tablecloth comes from a memory that has always been with me, as often happens with certain objects that are not only beautiful but also carry a story within them.

When I was a child, in my family, every special occasion began with the opening of the linen cabinet. My grandmothers, with gestures full of care and attention, would take out the finest tablecloths, the hand-embroidered ones, saved for the most important moments. The drawers, fragrant with cleanliness, would be opened, menus discussed, and the linen ironed slowly. Every gesture spoke of love for the table and for those who would gather around it.

With Tecla, I wanted to reclaim that memory, transforming it into something new, more elevated, more bespoke. It’s a tablecloth that marks the beginning of a new chapter: the Studio line. An offering designed for those who seek true excellence, for those who appreciate uncompromising beauty. Every detail is carefully studied and crafted with the same precision reserved for haute couture. Studio is where my love for form, artisanal gestures, and authentic beauty come together. A creative lab that reinterprets tradition with a contemporary eye and will continue to explore exclusive forms and techniques.

I personally designed the cutwork embroidery: a motif that evokes tradition, yet is reinterpreted with a contemporary touch. I wanted it to be elegant and precious, but also graphic and recognizable. I chose not to place it at the center, as is often done: instead, I focused on the corners, which I consider to be the true frames of the table. These embroidered corners fall long, with a dramatic drape that brushes the floor, like the hem of an evening gown.

I’ve always considered the border essential to a tablecloth’s elegance. Even the most minimal of our tablecloths always features a detail, a stitch, a cord, an embroidery that defines its perimeter. But with Tecla, I wanted to raise the bar. I envisioned significant length, generous volumes, and a stage-like presence that would not go unnoticed.

Each embroidery is carefully executed and is entirely hand-cut. It’s a long, meticulous process that requires great precision: the full and empty spaces of the design are embroidered, cut, and then carefully applied onto the linen base. A custom sketch is made for each order. This means every tablecloth is unique — because every table is different, and every home has its own way of hosting.

To make the Tecla tablecloth, we use only the finest quality European linen, which we elevate with long and careful processes to achieve an excellent result.

The coordinating napkins, with their generously embroidered corners, are an integral part of this concept. Inspired by a tradition of elegance, I wanted them to have the generous proportions I remembered from the tables of my childhood.

Tecla table collection also includes matching placemats. The embroidery, echoing the motif of the tablecloth and napkins, covers almost the entire surface, making each pacemat a precious detail that enriches every place setting.

The collection is developed in an elegant palette of soft, versatile colors such as sage green and pearl gray, but a version in mastic and black could not be missing, almost an ode to the men’s tuxedo: my personal tribute to gala evenings and a timeless style of elegance.

With Tecla, we want to offer something that goes beyond simple home textiles, we wont to bring to the table a refined style made of noble materials, tailored craftsmanship, and bold aesthetics. A return to the origins, but with a fresh perspective. It’s a tablecloth that expresses my vision of beauty: tailored, conscious, and deeply personal. And this is just the beginning. With the Studio line, Borgo Delle Tovaglie aims to bring the same passion and pursuit of excellence found in haute couture to the dining table. For those who love to set the table not only with elegance, but with a strong and unmistakable identity.
