Where were we? Oh yes, at the first shop on Via delle Tovaglie! Word of Daniela's beautiful tablecloths spread quickly and the shop became a very lively place where the best customers in Bologna met to have a unique item made with the most beautiful furnishing fabrics and in the most imaginative colors!
No longer having to resort to bleach to remove stains from fabrics, ladies could finally allow themselves to dare more or less dark and bright colors on their table as well as to match elaborate borders because even the problem of ironing was eliminated! The miraculous fabrics of Borgo delle Tovaglie could be cleaned like a kitchen counter, a good wipe with a damp sponge was enough to make them perfect again and immediately reusable for the next dinner or lunch! There was even a loyal customer who coined a slogan that we have made our own ever since: "the tablecloth that changes your life!". Cute, right?
You have to think that back then laundry and ironing were really sore points, they were time-consuming activities! The table always had to be well set; there were no American-style placemats, which at best could only be designed for breakfast. And even in clothing, men wore suits and ties to work and there were shirts to be ironed every day! And what about children?
