TABLECLOTHS
Choosing the correct size of the tablecloth for your table is not a difficult operation but requires some little attention.
THE FALL OF THE TABLECLOTH
The fall of the tablecloth, the flap of tablecloth that descends from each side of the table, depends on the size of the table, its shape and also on the type of use for which the tablecloth is purchased.
For square and rectangular tables, the drop is generally 35 cm, however it can reach 45 cm for larger and more elegant table settings and go down to 25 cm for more informal settings.
For round or oval tables the suggested drop is 25 cm for square or rectangular tablecloths, 35 cm for round tablecloths.
THE LOWER TABLECLOTH
For more formal occasions such as weddings and gala evenings it is usual to combine a beautiful tablecloth with a coordinated fabric sub-tablecloth that covers the table feet.
THE SIZE OF THE TABLECLOTH
The size of the tablecloth is obtained by adding twice the desired drop to the maximum size of the table.
Here are some examples and a diagrams that can help you choose the perfect tablecloth for every table and every occasion.
